1. 20sb
Yay, I’ve been added to the Twenty Something Bloggers personal blog feed! Thanks to NaBloPoMo, I’ve gotten into the habit of blogging enough to justify my add request. I also sent to a request to be added to DC Blogs, but I haven’t heard back yet.
2. Ambient Noise
I went on an ambient noise downloading spree. I’ve grown a bit bored with the ocean wave and thunderstorm tracks, so I downloaded a rainforest sound track and a river/stream sound track. I also got a yoga, new age-ish song to spice it up a bit. We’ll see how that works out. Should I be embarrassed that i now can’t sleep without my ambient noise? I don’t know.
3. Support!
I got a Facebook message from the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network (RAINN), the nation’s larget anti-sexual assault organization. I think they wouldn’t mind if I paste it here to spread the message. Who knows? Perhaps someone who doesn’t know about RAINN will see this and get interested. Here it is:
In lieu of the upcoming holiday, we at RAINN want to THANK all who have supported, volunteered and/or spread the word about the fight against sexual violence!
Each day, more and more of you sign up for RAINN Day 2009.
Become RAINNmakers.
Join our Speaker’s Bureau.
Volunteer on the National Sexual Assault Hotline,
Or volunteer on the National Sexual Assault Online Hotline.
We are successful because of generous contributors like you!
THANK YOU
Metro Overload
Having been to the 2004 Bush inauguration (Hey now! My roommate had tickets!), I’d love to go to Obama’s inaugration this January, but I think it will be way too insane for a crowd-hater like me. I read in a blog this morning that Metro Plans for 1.6 Million Riders Jan. 20 .
I can barely handle the L’Enfant to Navy Yard trip for a Nationals game. 1.6 million? Hmm. Besides, wouldn’t it be so much nicer to sit in my apartment with the television on, warm and sipping a cup of hot tea? I think so. And you know what? I can still say I was in DC for the inauguration and it’ll be true. If only I could make thousands of dollars subletting my apartment for a few days…
No, I want to be there and I don’t want strangers with me.
